Weleda Rose Eye Cream

I had never tried anything by Weleda, but heard good things about the company from other bloggers.

I decided to check out their Rose Eye Cream from iHerb with my latest order.. (use discount code DCL725) This eye cream costs about $21 on iHerb, quite a luxurious price point! The smell is quite subtle and inoffensive, I don't notice it while I'm applying it.

Being 23 and wrinkle free, my ideal eye cream is something that moisturises my under eye, and preferably brightens and reduces dark circles.

This cream comes in a tiny tube of 10ml, and you know what they say about good goods coming in small parcels! If you are looking for a solution to a dry eye area, look no further. This definitely packs a moisture punch, a little goes a LONG way.

I haven't noticed any reduction in my darkness, which is a shame because studying/late night tumblr scrolling makes my dark circles very apparent.

I didn't think that I was looking for a straightforward, moisturising eye cream, but I have been reaching for this little guy consistently! I wear it during the day or at night, though I have not worn makeup for weeks so I can't say how it holds up as a primer for concealer. It has the consistency of a creamy moisturiser and leaves the skin feeling fresh and hydrated.

Ingredients: Water (aqua), prunus persica (peach) kernel oil, prunus amygdalus dulcis (sweet almond) oil, alcohol, simmondsia chinensis (jojoba) seed oil, hydrolyzed beeswax, rosa moschata seed oil, olea europaea (olive) oil unsaponifiables, sedum purpureum extract, glyceryl stearate SE, euphrasia officinalis extract, xanthan gum, sodium beeswax.

Next cream on my list to try is the raved-about 100% Pure coffee bean eye cream.. I love coffee, so the idea of caffeine for my eye bags is very appealing to me. Got any other suggestions? Leave them below!

REVIEW: Acure Brightening Facial Scrub

Today's review is of the Acure Brightening Facial Scrub with argan stem cells and chlorella growth factor.

Let me start off by saying that I don't use this on my face. As a rule, my face doesn't react well to manual exfoliants and scrubs. I prefer to use chemical exfoliants such as AHA's to gently remove unwanted skin cells. I did try this scrub out on my face and had an AWFUL reaction: swollen, red, itchy, inflamed and irritated skin. Beware that if you have sensitive skin you may have a similar reaction! (It may have just been me, I haven't heard of anyone else reacting badly to it)

However! I persevered, having paid for it and wanting to get my money's worth. I experimented using it as a gentle body scrub for the top half of my body: chest, shoulders, back and arms. I generally avoid scrubbing these areas with a sugar or salt scrub, as these are too harsh for anything but my legs!

So far, I have been liking the effects of using this on my top half as a body scrub. It has fine beads in it that feel similar to gritty sand. They don't fully dissolve as you massage your skin, but the texture of the scrub becomes more milky and slightly foamy, before rinsing away to reveal smoooooth baby soft skin.

I highly recommend moisturising after this scrub, as this tends to be the best combination for keeping my skin supple and hydrated. If I skip the moisturiser, my skin can tend towards acne due to overcompensation of stripped oils.

I use this scrub several times a week and I love the subtle algae smell that fills the shower when I use it! Buy on iHerb here for $13!
